Speed Form
School Project
The basis for automotive design starts with a speed form. A form that portrays continuous movement and flow. For this project we had to come up with a good speed form. Afterwards we made mock ups out of clay and urethane foam. The final product was also made out of urethane foam, spray painted, and coated with resin.
By the end of this project, we developed a better understanding of how the form and function work hand in hand. Form affects how our eyes move along the structure of an object. Through developing a more solid understanding of this, I am now able to make purposeful and accurate design solutions.
Ideated using Autodesk Sketchbook, rendered in Photoshop, and the prototype required the use of shop tools. As an extra, I designed and 3D printed my stand.
