INUVAI Water Filteration Housing

For the INUVAI Water Purifier Design Project the goal was to create housing for a water filtration system that would fit in with the modern environment. Our team chose a unique hourglass shape to create length and movement for the final design. The sides have LED backlighting that is complemented with a honeycomb pattern that displays the states of the product system. Each color represents a different state of the water filter.

We designed a small and large configuration for the case, both following the same design features but with minor adjustments to separate the appearance of each case. To get a realistic sense of our design, we then created a 3D model of our design In order to fully visualize the materials and finishes we chose, our Solidworks models were imported into Keyshot. In doing so we were able to pick out and render ABS plastic with semi gloss finish and chromium for the contours.

Mood Board

The contours form PC cases were a big inspiration as well as the glass panel used to showcase what is inside. Another feature we wanted to utilize were LEDs. The hexagon and beehive pattern is a design that we wanted to use as an accent for our design. Existing water filtration housing is very basic, boxy, and lacks a lot of aesthetic detail.
